Year thirty-eight. This was a monumental year for us. We both decided to retire but neither of us knew what the result of giving up our careers would mean for our lives. By the time Christmas came around, we had decided to leave the city we both had lived in all our lives. This could be our last Christmas in Chicago. Whatever the reason, this year’s ornaments meant more to us simply because we could be decorating someplace else in 2014!
